Independent college counselor Briana Bouchard has spent her professional career immersed in college admissions and student advising, and is currently an academic coordinator in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tufts University. Briana found her calling naturally — when she was a student at Tufts herself, she spent all four years volunteering in the admissions office as a tour guide and a panelist at open houses. After graduating with a double major in mechanical engineering and biomedical engineering, Briana transitioned to a new role at Tufts as an admissions counselor. She traveled across New England to visit high schools and speak to prospective students, reviewing applications and coordinating admissions programming.

 

Briana's love of working directly with students ultimately brought her back to the Department of Mechanical Engineering, where she now advises undergraduate and graduate students and explores ways to improve the student experience within the department. She is an award-winning student advisor who's been recognized for her work by Tufts University and by NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising. Her institutional knowledge and experience as an admissions counselor, an advisor to college students, and a student herself all come together in her work as an independent college counselor. Briana knows the college admissions process inside and out. She has a passion for helping students and families figure out their next steps, smooth out any bumps in the road, and find the perfect fit.
